who's been camping (or caravanning) this year? and where to? i've only been once so far, to barmouth but plan a few more trips this summer. or where are you planning to go?

nope not been yet this year. won't get to go either.

but me and Mr GRR are thinking of going away towards autumn time, maybe in a static caravan :O

been 4 times in 'van so far this year Mike, crooklands, dent, waberthwaite and harrogate. Probs off to waberthwaite next weekend and booked a fortnight back at harrogate during kids summer hols

i wish i had more time to go again, i can't afford any weekends off till after my hols, late july so i should get one more trip in. how's the new van doing doug? looks like it's getting plenty of use

I go most weekends, mostly in the caravan but in the summer prefer to camp and i get cheeky wild camping weekends with the lads when i can.

it's doing great thanks Mike and yes, getting plenty of use out of it

I camped at Bigbury Devon and there was a storm in the night and the tent was nearly blown away with me in it. Was an crazy night and one which I would not like to repeat.

Also camped near Dartmouth in autumn, was stunning... not sure I would camp in winter having said that it is very mild at the moment!

I love camping in winter , i use a british army arctic sleeping bag i picked up for £30 and its nice and toasty in all weathers

I prefer the fact everywhere is a bit less busy and I must admit that this year the weather has been more mild hence not so tough outdoors. Once camped in ice n snow on a hillside which was fun.
