how many times a year do you go camping

as the title really, i was just wondering how many times a year you go camping/caravanning.

ive put a couple but we go more often but less than 5 as we also stay in gites in france and B&Bs

I've put a couple but this is something we'll be doing a lot more of in 2011. Going to get a new tent just after xmas and get some decent accessories for a change, always seem to make do with bits and bobs.

4 times this year - Wiseman's Bridge, Callow Top in Ashbourne, some place in Bridgnorth that I can't remember the name of, and Whittlebury Park in Silverstone

Laura, what tent are you planning on having? (I suggest you choose it but make Dan pay for it )

Not to sure as its news to me Liz but Dan has been going on about a Vango though. We want to get a bigger one really for a bit more comfort. But the small one is good for a two day jobby.

I think with the Vango though i like the idea of yours with the porch that fits both old and new tents, so if we upgrade things like that will still fit.

I've just started my Dragon award in Scouting, I have to camp at least once a month for 12 consecutive months to earn it.

Not a bad thing to be doing. Good excuse to go.

Do you have to go all different places?

I'm sure I did something similar to this when I was an actual Scout but cant find any of my old gear.

This is a leaders award now and has bronze silver and gold levels. Bronze you can camp in the same place 12 times, silver can be the same place in 12 consecutive months, gold has to be 12 different places in 12 consecutive months.

defo more than 5 times a year, would have been more this year but got stuck in India for a month due to volcanic ash. Love camping, plan to go even more in 2011

We go as often as we can - sadly with work picking up i don't think we'll be doing anything til december now.

Where do you think you'll go in December mate?

Planning on going to a caravan club site in dulverton (somerset).
It's stays open til the end of the year and has plenty of hardstandings so no chance of getting me pride 'n' joy stuck in the mud lol.

Not sure if it's motorhomes and caravans only or tents as well? Would be well worth checking out Dan as it's a really good location, lovely small village with several great places to eat/drink (including a really nice thai restaurant bizarrely) and it's on exmoor so plenty of places to go for a wander.

Have been there a couple of times before and would recommend it to anyone.

Nice one mate I'll take a looksee. Don't think I'll have a camper this year though so if it's no tents it'd be a no-go for me right now. booooo

Will have to get my head in gear and get this roody camper I've wanted for sooo so long!

probably only a couple of times a year at the moment, but we normally make it a week in late spring/early summer and then a fortnight during school hols. We used to go every other weekend during summer and when we eventually get our caravan hope to do so again.

most weekends to be honnest we start at easter and end at half term in october.

I think if we have enough leisure time and money, we should take the chances to go out and look more new things of different areas really. I will prepare my first camping travel time with my family. Good luck for me and my family.
